This is an incredible group of people dedicated to helping our kids. Mahanaim Village Orphanage is managed by Renee and I. The day today operations are being handled by or foster daughter, Denok and her husband Adhi. We have know Denok since she was 14 years old. We met her at the Salvation Army Orphanage in Denpasar, where she grew up, and she has been part of our family ever since. Denok lived with us in the US for 7 years and her husband for 4 years before moving back to Suluwesi to be near Adhi’s family. In September 2018, Denok, Adhi and their baby, Zay, moved to Negara to help with Mahanaim Village. With her business degree, Denok has been invaluable. Adhi spent years in construction while in the US as well and has taken over the construction of Mahanaim Village. With their knowledge and experience, we have been able to accomplish much more than we had hoped for.
We currently have 4 of 12 houses built around our new Sports Field & Gazeebo. Our maintenance people are carefully selected to be positive role models for our kids as well and often hire our kids for small additional jobs around the complex for extra money.
